The Maryland Cancer Collaborative consists of several workgroups that meet regularly
to develop priorities and work on the implementation of the Maryland
Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan. Each of the workgroups has identified
priority objectives and strategies from the Cancer Plan, which you can
view here.Examples of recent projects include: A
flyer about cancer prevention strategies in the workplace has been
drafted for businesses in the Healthiest Maryland Businesses program. The
Collaborative has partnered with several organizations to survey
Maryland hospitals on their palliative care programs, services,
barriers, and needs. The
Collaborative has partnered with the Maryland Patient Navigation Network
to share best practices and technical assistance in patient navigation.
The Survivorship Workgroup of the Collaborative released a Guide to Cancer Survivorship Care and Resources for Cancer Patients.
The guide outlines many issues that may impact a cancer patient
throughout the cancer survivorship journey, and features lists of
resources for cancer patients at various stages of survivorship.
Members can be individuals or organizations (such as the Cancer Council, local Cancer Coalitions, American Cancer Society).Members can choose to join a committee or can join as corresponding members (to receive email communication/updates).
