State Advisory Council on Health and Wellness

The new State Advisory Council on Health and Wellness goes into effect October 1, 2017. The Council will consist of 34 members appointed by the Secretary of Health. Its duties will include providing guidance on Statewide chronic disease prevention and control and the promotion of evidence-based programs for healthy lifestyles and the prevention, early detection and treatment of chronic disease.
 

State Advisory Council on Heart Disease and Stroke

The State Advisory Council on Heart Disease and Stroke consists of 24 members appointed by the Governor, representing 18 organizations and the public. The goal of the Council is to improve outcomes for heart disease and stroke patients in Maryland.

State Advisory Council on Arthritis and Related Diseases

The State Advisory Council on Arthritis and Related Diseases consists of 15 members appointed by the Governor, representing a variety of voluntary and government agencies, health and medical professions. The goal of the Council is to reduce the burden of arthritis in Maryland.
 

State Advisory Council on Physical Fitness

The State Advisory Council on Physical Fitness is composed of a multidisciplinary, volunteer group of 25 Governor-appointed Maryland citizens. The mission of the Council is to educate, advise, and encourage the citizens of Maryland to gain health benefits and enhance the quality of their lives through regular exercise.
