To assure a comprehensive, coordinated, culturally effective, and consumer-friendly system of care that meets the needs of Maryland's CYSHCN and their families.
To become a nationally recognized leader in developing the unique potential of each Maryland child and young person served through its comprehensive, fully integrated and consumer-friendly system of care.
The federal Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), together with its partners, has identified six core outcomes as critical indicators of success in implementing community-based systems of services mandated for all children with special health care needs. OGCSHCN prepared briefs about each of the MCHB Core Outcomes for Maryland CYSHCN using the latest
National Survey of Children with Special Health Care Needs
(2009-10) data. These briefs provide a quick overview and pertinent data for each core outcome:
Families of children and youth with special health care needs partner in decision making at all levels and are satisfied with the services they receive.
