Maryland’s Office for Genetics and Children with Special Health Care Needs (OGPSHCN) conducts data gathering and analysis activities in support of our activities to improve health care and support systems for Maryland kids and youth with special health care needs and their families. , was awarded a federal “State Implementation Planning Grant for Improving Services for Children and Youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other Developmental Disabilities” from the federal Maternal and Child Health Bureau.

2010 Maryland Parent Survey:
As part of the Maryland 2010 Title V Needs Assessment, a statewide survey of parents of children and youth with special health care needs was conducted. The survey was conducted by email, in-person, and by phone with 939 families. Of those 939 families, 781 had at least one child with a special health care need
