Overview:
Module #5 will provide an overview of birth practices and breastfeeding. It will cover labor and birth practices to support early breastfeeding and strategies to help initiate breastfeeding. Additionally, Module #5 will provide details on how to support breastfeeding after a Cesarean birth.

Recognize birth practices that can interfere with breastfeeding.

Discuss the importance of early skin-to-skin contact.

Discuss ways to foster early initiation of breastfeeding.
